Sunshine Silk Clymene Camisole is a bit more special than other camisoles.  Its feathers are hand painted in metallic fabric paint, which makes the top glistens under spotlights or sunshine.  If you're heading to a party after work, wear a suit jacket over this top, and you're good to go from day to night!!  Clymene is the wife of Iapetus and the mother of Prometheus and Epimetheus.  At Gloria Lee, we value family and community.  

- This Clymene Camisole is made with 100% silk charmeuse, so it is 100% bio-degradable!  (Charmeuse refers to the weave and shinning texture of the fabric),

- In an effort to reduce carbon footprint and support local businesses, we source this silk charmeuse locally, hand-paint, and produce the camisole locally in New York.

- Overproduction and keeping inventory is a waste of energy. land, and resources.  Unsold items are usually being landfilled or burned before it has ever been worn.  To prevent excessive waste and minimize pollution, every garment at Gloria Lee is made-by-order.

"Hope" is the key inspiration for our Fall 2020 collection.  One of the oldest tale of "hope" appeared in Ancient Greek's mythology, Pandora's Box.  We took from Emily Dickinson’s poem “Hope is the thing with Feathers”, and created various beautiful feather motives hand painted to the garments.  Similar with wearing evil eye jewelries to ward off evil spirits, we wish the feather motives will encourage people with hope, faith, and love.  As we have perservered from various disasters and traumatic events throughout history, we will survive and prevail once again!
