Marine Ombre Poseidon Skirt
Marine Ombre Poseidon Skirt has a beautiful ombre from royal blue to teal. According to ancient Greek's myths, Poseidon is the God of sea, rivers, floods, droughts, and earthquakes. We named the skirt after Poseidon mainly because of its beautiful color.
- The Poseidon skirt is hand-dyed, which reduces the amount of water traditionally needed by half.
- 100% Raw silk. Unlike regular silk fabrics , raw silk upcycles the shorter fibers unused in the production of highly sought after traditional silk. This shorter fiber length produces a nubby fabric with a slight sheen and is more akin to cotton, but with greater depth and texture.
- Overproduction and keeping inventory is a waste of energy. land, and resources. Unsold items are usually being landfilled or burned before it has ever been worn. To prevent excessive waste and minimize pollution, every garment at Gloria Lee is made-by-order.
"Hope" is the key inspiration for our Fall 2020 collection. One of the oldest tale of "hope" appeared in Ancient Greek's mythology, Pandora's Box. We took from Emily Dickinson’s poem “Hope is the thing with Feathers”, and created various beautiful feather motives hand painted to the garments. Similar with wearing evil eye jewelries to ward off evil spirits, we wish the feather motives will encourage people with hope, faith, and love. As we have perservered from various disasters and traumatic events throughout history, we will survive and prevail once again!
